It's not the "There is not loot." message, i've done it three times in a row with 2 tanks dc'ing the first try, another the 2nd, and myself the 3rd upon zoning in and back out.

Same. On two separate toons. I tried turning off my addons on both, but that only bought me two or three seconds before my client froze up.

Turning off addons is not a full reset UI, which is what I'd recommend trying.

The three folders involved can have changes which can cause issues, which is why we ask you either rename, delete or move them so they get recreated fresh with your next login.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.

you seriously think this is client side? suddenly everyone's computers are effed? not likely, i'll keep my wtf as it is

Suddenly? No. Players have been suffering from outdated addon complications since patch day.

This may be related to the cog-wheel issue which is known, but if you haven't reset your UI since the patch I'd still highly recommend it.

But /reloadui is the fix-all/be-all/end-all of tech support with Blizzard. : )

Actually - that's an ingame command and little better than a bandaid. If there are issues in the 3 folders we ask you to delete/rename/move, it's temporary at best.
