Cant get [Tabard of the Lightbringer], help

Hi there,
I have [Tabard of the Lightbringer], but it was a gift from my friend when he got shadowmourne 4 monthes ago. Now i just got my shadowmorune, and i killed 25 LICH KING with it. Then I looted the quest item from LK. However, i cant finish the quest for [Tabard of the Lightbringer]. It keeps saying that The Lightbringer's Redemption failed: Duplicate item found.

I finsihed all other 4 quests though.

I also tried to just throw my tabard into my bank and went to ICC again. I talked to the NPC after that, it still said that The Lightbringer's Redemption failed: Duplicate item found.

so how do i get the tabard?

btw i want to give the tabard to my friend. Someone suggested me to delete my current tabard first, then finish the quest and give the tarbard to my friend. Asking GMs to restore my very first one... Does it work this way?

Unfortunately this is not something the Game Master department currently lends a hand with, Tangseng. If you are willing to forgo the one you currently have, you may delete it, then receive a new one when you turn in the quest. It's a matter of which is more valuable to you. Which is something only you will be able to decide for your character.
