"A character with that name already exists"

Hi everyone,

About 5 mins ago I was playing WoW when I was in Stonetalon Mountains with this character 'Frostspells.' I had to quit out of WoW by minimizing WoW and clicking 'close' on my Windows XP's desktop which isn't the right way to close WoW, but I had to close it by minimizing it because it wouldn't let me log out. Well I try to log in again, open up the launcher, put Battle.net information in, connect fine, but then when I click "Enter World" on Frostspells, it loads up, get to the end of the first load and then it takes me back to the character selcection screen saying "A character with that name already exsists."
What should I do? It won't let me get in Frostspells, I can "Enter World" on all of my characters fine except Frostspells.

Please Help! :-)

These kinds of issues normally resolve themselves after about 15 minutes - the server will kick out your "logged in" character to allow you on.

If you are still having trouble after that time has elapsed, you'll want to submit an in-game petition to our Game Masters. Be sure to include the name of the trapped character and to include the word "stuck" in your petition. This will ensure that our team of Game Masters who actively watch for these issues will be able to assist you as swiftly as possible. >^.^<
