Parental Controls

Back when Blizzard announced real names being mandatory on the new forums, many people suggested disabling RealID through parental controls. It is possible to set this up on your own account even if no minor is involved.

I did this, and disabled RealID. When Mike Morhaime reneged on those plans, I turned RealID back on.

Recently, Blizzard made it possible to fine-tune RealID features in account maintenance without using parental controls -- and I would like to use this feature. However, the buttons are grayed out with a message that I need to use parental controls.

I would like to be able to use account maintenance now that it has those options, rather than going through the hassle of parental controls.

I emailed Blizzard stating that I would like parental controls removed from my account. The CSR said the parent would need to do this. I said I am 31 years old and this is my own account. He responded with another email explaining what parental controls are. We went around in circles. I asked to escalate to a supervisor who hopefully understands what I am asking. I have not heard back.

Can any of the CSRs in this forum please look into this?
