Changing name under account

Hi,

I have been the owner of this account since the day this game came out. However, with the recent RealID options, all my online friends have been bugging me for my email address. I wish to protect my privacy, and at the same time I would also like to use this feature since me and my (online) friends often plays on different server and different games on bnet.

Privacy is very important to me, especially with the nature of the name I have (unique) that will allow people to easily "find" me with my name if they wish to do so. Is there a way for me to either block out my last name under my account, or change it completely?

Thanks in advance

As Elystia has mentioned, Admirererer, changing your battle.net due to Real ID or privacy concerns is not possible.

The only time your name will change is if you have legally changed your name.

As stated in our Real ID FAQ -Real ID is a system designed to be used with people you know and trust in real life -- friends, co-workers and family

In other words, if you are concerned with giving your friends this information, Real ID may not be the best option for you at this point.

Q u o t e:
I personally think it's [Removed] that they dont allow you to choose your display name. Or at least let it display your character-realm instead.
If this is a feature you are interested in, our developers would love to hear your ideas. Feel free to post your ideas in our suggestion forums.

Q u o t e:
Even worse that you have to give out your account name to add people.
Then blizz wonders why hack rates are up?

They can spam that cut and paste "RL friends only" [Removed] all they want, its not going to change the fact that people use Real ID for what it really is.. a cross-realm friend list.
Real ID is not intended to be used for cross-realm friend list and while I hate sounding like a robot, it truly is intended to be used with friends/ family whom you trust.

Q u o t e:
If I want to talk to my RL friends, that's what my phone is for.
Which is why Real ID is optional, again sounding like a robot here.
