Blizz - Free gold? - Blue Tracker

Hoping for a blue response, but curious either way.

Not 5 minutes ago some random level 1 ran up to me, opened trade, inserted 2,000g, and when I simply whispered "?" they said "Take it", traded, then logged off. Now what I'm curious about is, what is supposed to be done in this situation? Mostly I'm worried it's gold from a compromised account or something of the sort, BUT I also know many people are angry at the moment and quitting, so I'm curious if it could simply be some random person wanting to get rid of their stuff. I also wonder about the hacking since it's only 2,000g, not a very large amount.

This actually happened just recently to my friend, though with him it was done by some level 80 wearing only non-vendorable/disenchantable gear, so that one was obviously a hacked account(Though I can't recall what the GM said when he made a ticket about it).

So, what would you all do? Hopefully a blue will respond because I'm curious, if this IS from a compromised account, will I be in trouble for this at some point for any reason?

I can certainly understand why you are questioning this Rose, and I do see your petition.

It's good you placed that, that creates a documentation trail if this is ever called into question.

Feel free to leave that open for further investigation if you like, although it may be a few days. A cursory examination doesn't seem to show that as a compromised account, but we could look into things further.

I can't answer why someone would just hand you 2k gold :), but I do see where you questioned them and they said take it - so that part is very easy to confirm.

There is no way to move that in the basic UI. Your friend most likely has some type of mod that allows moving different screen elements around.
