Possibility of a refund?

So after I heard about Cataclysm I decided I'd use the WotLK trial to come back to WoW after a 2 year hiatus and see if it would run on my laptop. It works well enough and I really enjoyed PVPing on my 70 mage in AV with the new talents, so I decided to buy a 60 day pre-paid gamecard for some more PVP fun. As it turns out, its not possible to PVP at level 70 without owning Wrath of the Lich King because of some shortsighted decision about twinks or some such nonsense. Apparantly there is a feature to turn off your exp gain, but this places you in a special PVP bracket reserved for others of the same inclination. If you're level capped and missing an expansion, you're thrown into this nether-bracket of non-existent matches. By the way, I had to dig around to find this out for myself, as the GM ticket que is unbelievably long.

The only reason I reactivated my account was to PVP at level 70 on my mage. I based this decision off of my experiences during the WotLK trial. During the trial, my mage was technically able to gain experience (but was still level capped), and so was placed in the regular bracket. Now that I've actually paid for my subscription, I can no longer que into BGs on my mage without buying WotLK. Even if I did buy WotLK, I'd be able to play in a single AV match before leveling out of the bracket.

Since I can no longer PVP without investing a further $40 and dozens of hours leveling and getting new gear, only to repeat the process in a month and a half with Cataclysm, and since the WotLK trial (designed to bring back old players) did not make apparant this change, I would like a refund if possible. I bought and activated the pre-paid card earlier tonight, if that helps.
