First off, neither issue affects me in any way. But the fact that they are all over the Lock pet name issue but quickly deny ANY means of solving the enchant issue is ludicrous

The core problem here should be a concern to everyone. It is almost as if Blizz out-sourced their support department to some foreign country. Their support is THAT bad and don't expect it to get any better.

Cata is their swan-song for WoW. You can almost get the sense of a big sigh of relief from them that WoW is in it's final throws. They made their fortune and have no need to produce a pleasurable product anymore.

12 million ACTIVE subscribers? I think not. Take out all the demo accounts, the dead RAF lvling accounts, the gold spammer accounts, etc. and I'd guess less then half are actually actively played. Which granted, is still a ton of people.

A ton of people who deserve decent customer support; for as long as this "fabulous" new content will last.

Extremely different situations here. I know it's not ideal, but I'd caution you not to just draw the conclusion that restoring pet names was a higher priority. Both issues were investigated for hours on end Tuesday and Wednesday. For a while it was looking like there would not be a way to recover warlock demon name data, but eventually we found we could still recover that data. The same is unfortunately not true for enchants, but that doesn't mean we didn't spend more time and effort researching the enchanting issue.

Edit: I wish I had read the rest of your post (the couple paragraphs of aimless ranting) before responding to a somewhat legitimate concern. Let's call things what they are right now: your assumptions about the work going on in Blizzard offices, as well as our motivation for releasing this expansion, are completely unfounded and absolutely absurd.

If you want to express a concern about something, try doing it without the lazy hyperbole that, frankly, gets a little bit old when it's tossed out every time the game changes.

One time I lost a piece of gear. It...just...vanished. In any case, a GM found it quickly. Enchants and all. Now, I know it may not be an ideal resolution, but it seems the info is SOMEWHERE, so would it be possible to just give duplicate items to the people who lost them?

I'm unable to verify whether or not it's true that we could confirm what enchants players had prior to patch 4.0.1, but there is a big difference between being able to apply a fix in the upcoming maintenance which will automatically restore demon pet names, and manually verifying every single enchant lost on a case-by-case basis. Unfortunately, that is not a feasible resolution even if it is technically possible (again, I do not know that it is technically possible).
