hey guys, just wanting some help on how to unlock my account... here's the go... couple of months ago my brother quit wow to focus on exams (semester one exams) and he did not want to keep the account on his email and told me to change email to mine and change pw and not tell him so he cannot play wow again... so i do that and i get an email saying the account is locked and i need to send in the fax with ID etc.. i did do it at that time thinking it's good for my brother RIGHT NOW that he doesn't have his account and me... now me and my brother have been trying to get it unlocked for quite a bit now and have sent about 2 faxes with proper ID etc and about 4 emails... all that really happens is that i get another email telling me to send fax in again, and when i tell them i have sent fax already they tell me that i should contact billing department on "so and so" email... i do that.. and they tell me the same and then later i get no reply... so if anyone would like to help me on this, it would be greatly appreciated.. and i cannot even call blizzard as i'm living in new zealand and it costs alot to call blizzard from here. and this is REALLY frustrating how doubtful and un-trustworthy i feel as a customer...
thanks

Calling would be best to get this sorted out.

While I understand your brother may have wanted to remove temptation, an account that is not yours should really have never been under your control.

The Australian number should work for New Zealand, or you might want to check out a program such as Skype. Many of our international players report good results from Skype.

Q u o t e:
yes but i've heard sharing accounts between family members is allowed...? not that i was sharing my bro's account just that i was 'keeping' my email on his account and that's about IT... i don't think someone should be penalized that bad for something so small...

The only condition which an account can be shared is between one parent/guardian and one child. Not between siblings, spouses, significant others, BFFs, or family pets :)

This would have been locked due to concern that it had fallen into someone else's hands. That's why it would have been locked and they are requesting confirmation from the original account holder that they are indeed in control of the account, their system is secure.

We've seen a significant increase in the number of compromised email accounts so it may be necessary to ask for further documentation if we suspect that an email may also be at risk and we aren't corresponding with the original account holder. That's actually for their protection.
