This is not a suggestion it is a condition that I am experiencing. And could use CS support/help. I can see me suggesting a shorter deserter flag while fixes are under way as a so called (suggestion). Its more of a temp fix for those having problems with the patch. However, aside from that could use some help in a possible fix.

Ever since the patch I have been freezing a lot. And I know many others that are the same. My settings ever since then I have lowered to bare minimum hoping it would help ... which it has not. As with all patches I do a fresh install of all my add-ons that are current with the given patch. Even with these add-ons off (tried it) .. still freeze just the same. Specifically if I mouse over the flag in EotS I'll suddenly freeze every time. Don't ask me why. And I have had to deal with being flagged as a deserter once I have come back in. And I freeze a lot and every day. After usually my 3rd deserter after being frozen and having to restart wow. I tend to give up trying pvp. Could you possibly shorten the deserter time until you have things fixed a bit better. As it is a inconvenience to those trying to actively participate in pvp and freeze.

My system :
AMD Athlon II X2 215 Processor (dual) 2.70 GHz
6 GB RAM
64 bit windows 7
NVidia 210 (1 GB RAM)

connection :
10 MB Cable

This is an issue still under investigation by our developers, I really don't have an update at the moment.

There also seems to be an issue with anything with a 'cog' when you mouseover. Flags in BGs, now the pumpkin in the Horseman's area.

Other than a full reset UI just to rule out anything there, I don't have any further recommendations at the moment, although you are more than welcome to post over in tech. Some freezing is outdated addons and conflicts, and to totally rule that out you have to do the full procedure. May not help, but cannot hurt, and may indeed alleviate some of this a bit.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.
