Autoreply?

My mate has just started wow and ive been helping him out his problem is as follows.

After upgrading from a trial account his tailoring and enchanting profession buttons dissapeared from the professions screen although disenchant remains so he is unable to level his professions.

2 in-game tickets have been submitted both returning the standard "we are not restoring lost enchants" message. The second message clearly stated that if was not a missing enchant it was missing buttons in the professions window.

Are GM's reading tickets or is there an auto-reply?

How can my friend get some help with his problem?

There are a couple things to try actually. My first recommendation is a full reset UI.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.

Now, one workaround for crafting professions is to use the command /cast professiontitle - say /craft alchemy for example. That should pop up the crafting window.

There have been a few cases reported where newly trained skills aren't 'sticking', but those are primarily on gathering skills.

If none of the above seem to help, opening a petition so we can look into this further would be the next best step.
