Account disabled? What?

Note: The account I am posting from is not one that I play with. I have one for posting on and one for playing on.

The account that I play on was working fine earlier today. I tried to log on tonight and it told me that access to my account has been temporarily disabled. It had a link for me to go to as well, and when I went to that link, it says that my account has been permanently disabled.

My husband's account has the exact same problem (we are on completely separate accounts).

Mine says that it's been determined that someone has accessed my account that's not authorized to.

I know that I will have to wait for account services to contact me again, but I'm curious. Originally when I made my account I lived in the US. I now live in Switzerland. Does the extreme change in location affect my account at all?

Bah I am so confused as to why my account is disabled; I was hacked once before and the process then was completely different.

Edit: Another question (maybe a blue could answer this for me). I changed my payment method yesterday and my husband recently changed his. Both of our accounts are now paid for by his credit card, which is a Visa, but it's from here (Switzerland). Would using a non American credit card have an effect on our accounts?

Edit 2: I have only been in one heroic and didn't even get to the first boss in it, so I've received no new justice points since the patch (I see some people are getting banned for supposedly getting too many justice points or something) and my husband has no toons at 80, period. We also both did faction changes for one of our toons on each account yesterday (with the credit card mentioned in my above edit).

Can you please provide me character names and realm names for both you and your husband, Prêtentious? I will gladly take a look into both of the accounts and may be able to provide additional information.

Possibly if you recently moved to Switzerland. If you have lived there for quite some time there should not be an issue.

No. :)

This is a known issue which we currently are working on resolving. You will find the main thread here:

I just saw your responses and am investigating the information further. I will update the thread when I have more information. It shouldn't be too much longer.

Thank you so much! Even if you aren't able to get any info for me, please know that I honestly do really appreciate your help and I am sorry for being a pain in the butt lol.

It's just nice to know that someone is at least checking for me. Much appreciated. If I could give you virtual cookies or brownies or something I would.

No, don't worry about it, Balros! We are here to help!

I am gathering facts as we speak, but I do have a question. Did you and your husband perform any paid services this week?

Yep, he faction changed his druid- Balros- on the realm Velen.

I faction changed my shaman (formerly named Pretentious with a symbol over the e) to alliance, her name is now Shamanigans and she is also on Velen.

Thanks for the information!

I was able to work my magic and get the issue resolved for you as well as your husband.

Please be sure that both Battle.net accounts have been updated with the proper information, especially if you both live in Switzerland. :)

Let me know if you both have success in logging into the game.
