I've seen this over and over, in different guilds, in raids, in PuG groups....

It's always the fricken healer that has either lag, something wrong with their connection, power outtages, you name it.

C'mon you guys, You can't blame your crappy connection forever.

I'm sure that sometimes, lag is certainly just an excuse if the player is embarrassed to admit they had made a mistake. With that being said though, depending on the situation a second or two of lag when healing can be devastating and as a result more easily noticeable that, at the very least "something undesirable happened".

A dps class lagging for a second or two, in most cases will go unnoticed.

Well, one thing to consider is that there's a much higher chance to lag out when there's combat going on, and 25 people all using different spells against a monster, or a group of monsters.

Also, if you spam your keys too much, the system will eventually disconnect you. So healers desperately trying to keep everyone alive are more likely to disconnect if they are not aware of this.

Healers do not have a great chance to lag out than any other class, I assure you. We're also not discussing disconnections, which I'd still say is not anymore likely for a healer.

Tell that to the mana I just lost for the heal i DIDN'T GET on the guy that died because of it. IMO there should allways be a check for this...and if it fails..if mana is used and the spell has not given hp to someone... give the mana back..or revive the fallen target.

IMO the server should revive the target, you penalizing others for lag.

I've thought about it further and have discussed the matter with class designers. For Wrath of the Lich King, the 51-point talent for all class healing trees with be:

External Problematic Healing Prowess

Reduces the chance to lag while healing by 50% and also reduces the duration of lag by 30%.
