Safe to re-enchant staves? Respond.

Many players logged in following the 4.0.1 patch only to discover their staves are missing enchantments. The Blizzard response to this is 'sorry about that, but we are not going to restore or compensate', see Bornakk's respomse here

Ok fine, however is it safe for us affected players to go ahead now and re-enchant our weapons? There are some anecdotal reports that some players have done this only to lose the enchantments again when they log off. Furthermore is reforging 'safe' or will it remove enchantments?

Please respond urgently Blizzard.

Just double-checked to make sure, Romana - I can certainly well appreciate wanting to know this answer before diving in :)

From the reports we've been receiving - and word from our developers, this issue should be resolved going forward. In other words, enchants being applied NOW should remain. We've not received any new reports on this - but if anyone finds that to be the case please do let us know immediately.
