My hunter's pet has disappeared!

I know there are a lot of post-patch issues going on in these forums, but I am really panicking about mine.

I'm trying out the new Call Pet spell and my two pets are listed under it: Anshu (hyena) and Hala (cat). I call out Anshu and all is fine and dandy. I dismiss him and select Hala to call out but a message comes up that says "There is no pet to summon". Baffled, I go to a stable and try switching Hala and Anshu's places. It works and I can now summon Hala using Call Pet.

I go to summon Anshu back out and... he is no longer listed under Call Pet. I check the stable and he isn't in there either. He is simply gone.

I'm freaking out here. I don't want my beloved red hyena to disappear! Worst case scenario, I have to tame another but I want mine.

I opened a ticket, but I know it'll be ages until it's finally answered in-game, so I'm desperately inquiring you fine folks here. Does anyone know what happened to my darling Anshu?

Very glad to hear he found his way back home :)

While this apparently worked, it never hurts after a patch of this magnitude to do a FULL reset UI - and then make sure that any addons you reinstall are compatible with the current patch. The insidious thing about UI issues is that they often manifest in things NOT seen - often hard to know if something is missing :)

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.
