Hi, I recently sent in a question regarding a certain gold company that is over-spamming the Alliance on Eldre'Thalas. I sent in a ticket that read as such.

Issue:

I have a question, is there any way that you guys can block a certain few words in the game, you would get rid of the majority of the gold spam on Eldre'Thalas. There's some company called <Removed> that keeps spamming off of random level 1's. I know that some words in the game have been reserved and can't be typed, would you guys be able to block this name? If so, like I said, it would block the majority of gold farming messages in Trade chat on our realm. Seems to be the same with the horde.

First, what you can do is right click on the name in your chat window and click report spam. This will immediately let our people know to go after the name or names in question.

Next, if you could take a moment to please post on the suggestion forums at www.forums.worldofwarcraft.com, our Development team would be more than happy to review it. Please note that we pull many suggestions from our community. For example, race and faction changes came about because of suggestions from our players. The Arena system was another idea from our forums. The developers won't be able to respond for legal reasons, but every suggestion on the forums is read and examined by our development team, and as I said, many have been added to the game thanks to our players!

I'm not sure if this really answers my question...why would the GM ask me to go and post about this gold farming company in suggestion forums? Furthermore, as I mentioned, they keep coming on level 1 characters for a short amount of time, so how exactly do I report spam, by the time Blizz takes a look at it, they are already gone and probably deleted? All I asked was to see if I can get a few words in the game reserved so that gold farming company can no longer advertise with their website or company name...didn't ask anything about how posting in the suggestions forum may improve gameplay...

Come on Blizz, don't forsake your friends on Eldre'Thalas!!

You made a suggestion for blocking certain words - that is indeed something you could recommend in the Suggestion Forum.

That being said, they adapt. Block one word, that could have many ramifications to other things - and they'd just change it.

Using report spam is the best way to deal with these as you were informed. Doesn't matter if the character is deleted at all, we can find them. The majority of what you'd see in trade or in a whisper is being done on stolen accounts. The sooner those are reported, the quicker those can be addressed.
