Today I sent my wife an invitation to play WoW. (Finally! lol) She accepted and we're trying to do the recruit a friend thing so she can level quicker and I can level with her.

When we review our accounts it shows that we are linked and that I referred her but not that either of us are getting the free exp bonus or anything like that. Here's what we did:

She accepted the invite in her email and filled out her account info through the link that I sent her.

She then bought the first upgrade to Vanilla for 19.95 through the account management page when it prompted her too and of course that came with a free month.

We set up a recurring billing cycle through our paypal account.

It shows in my account management page under referrals that she accepted, we are linked and she upgraded but that is it.

My question is on top of the free month and paying the 19.95 to upgrade do we need to purchase another month? If so would a prepaid game card work for that? We are not interested in the mount, just the exp bonus. It says that her account may not be fully upgraded for 72 hours and when I do look at the log it shows she is still on the ten day trial and that the upgrade is pending. I just want to make sure we do this right and do not screw ourselves. I want to get her up and leveled ASAP so we can both enjoy the higher level content together. I did read the stickies but they just kind of confused me a bit lol

From what I can see,Deâdeyes, the accounts are properly linked.

I also see WoW1 as a trial and WoW2 upgraded to full, however no characters have been made on the upgraded account.

Can you make sure your wife is playing on the correct account?

Anytime! =). When upgrading to a full standard account, you automatically get 30 free days of gameplay.
Q u o t e:
I went ahead and bought her another month and now it shows that I have a free month.
Looks like the account would be good until December. Enjoy!
