Extended maintenance 4.0.1

Greetings all,

As many of you are aware this patch day has been extended much longer than originally anticipated. We apologize for what frustration this has caused and also thank many of your for your continued patience while these matters are resolved.

Realms are currently expected to be made live at 6 PM PDT.

In an effort to return some semblance of order for this forum so we are able to address more than just player comments around the implementation of maintenance we will be locking or deleted related threads. We will also continue to move threads to a more appropriate forum in case they were posted in the wrong location.

We will provide what updates we can regarding the extended maintenance period in this thread, you can also find updates posted in the Service Status forum.

Update

All realms are slowly being brought online. Your individual realm may not yet be online yet but all realms are expected to be online by 6 PM PDT.

If you are getting stuck on loading or your realm still is listed as off line just wait, it should be coming up shortly.

With all of the extentions and not being able to play the entire day, will there be a day added to our accounts? I do believe we pay for 30 days of active playing at a time, and this does hinder that agreement. It would also just be nice for Blizz to cut the fans a break once in a while.

Actually, Messalynn, realms are not guaranteed to be up 24/7 and subscriptions do not pay for 100% access. They take into account maintenance periods as well as unexpected down times.

If credit is granted due to the extended maintenance period it will be determined after all related issues have been resolved. If you feel that such compensation is necessary you are welcome to post in our Suggestions forum where those to make that determination can review it.

If you are experiencing an issue logging into the game please check your graphic options, in some cases lowering them may be required.

You may also want to try resetting your User Interface.

You may be running across the rolling restarts this morning.

Realms have been up from the patch for some hours. Rolling restarts don't typically take very long, I'd give it a few minutes and try again.
