Not even sure what to title this

So here's the deal:
Haven't played in almost a year, decided to start playing again, so I bought a game card today.
Entered the digits into the payment method thingie, and it said the time was added.
I tried to log in, and it gave me a "There was a problem logging in with this account. You may not have a WoW game attached to your account, or you may be logging into a region different from the one you created the account in. I have Classic, BC, and WotLK attached to the account, and I'm in the same region. When I checked my Battle.net account, the games were indeed attached. As a 'just in case' measure, I wanted to ensure my WoW account was merged with my Battle.net account (an action I had taken before I stopped playing a year ago), so I tried to merge the accounts, and I got a message saying my WoW account was merged to another account. I have heretofore changed my password, and I got the same message (not that the info was incorrect, but that there was no game attached). I can now no longer access my WoW account via worldofwarcraft.com, something I had to do to input the Game Card info, so this problem must have happened since I did that.

So, I guess what I'm wondering is:
- Was my account hacked? After I sent out the "Help! I've been hacked!" e-mail, Blizz said all my stuff was intact, and I have access to the forums with my characters, so I doubt it.
- Is this simply a matter of unmerging my WoW account from this imposter, and merging it to mine?
- How do I got about doing this?
- Is this just some stupid mistake I'm making?

Thank you to anyone who read my tremendously boring wall of text, and who answer, especially if you're a Blizz employee :)

Edit: I am now able to access my account management via worldofwarcraft.com, but the problem still persists
Edit 2: Under Region for my WoW account, it says Americas & Oceania, which I thought was corrected, until I noticed that under my SC2 account, the region is North America. If this is the problem, how can I change my region?

The first thing we need to do is confirm you are entering the correct account name, Armor. If you click on the option button in the upper right corner of the screen can you enter the Battle.net account name (i.e. your e-mail address) there?

Let me know when you have done so and I'll take a look.

My e-mail address has now been entered.
Also, thankyou for responding so quickly.

That looks correct. You said you are able to log into the Account Management page but you get an error when you attempt to log into the game.

Can you try booting up the Launcher.exe program, located in your worldofwarcraft directory.

Just so you know Americas and & Oceania are under North America.

As for your issue, this may be a technical issue but I'm looking into it. I swear I have seen that error before and it was a relatively easy fix.

Since you are able to log into your Battle.net account can you visit the Account Management page and try changing your password. That may update some information allowing you to log in.

If you make any progress please let me know.

Just to confirm the exact message you are receiving is: There was a problem logging in with this account. You may not have a WoW game attached to your account, or you may be logging into a region different from the one you created the account in.

Right?

That's the one.

You have a bunch of us stumped right now but I have some more troubleshooting steps we can try.

Do you have another e-mail address available or can you start one? Once you do can you log into your Account Management site and change your account to that address? Then try that address to log in with.

You will need to click a confirmation link that is sent to the new e-mail address.

Try this, goto:

worldofwarcraft/data/enUS

Delete the realmlist.wtf file.

It might be just listed under realmlist

Oh, I think that was the troubleshooting step that I have been trying to recall. Thank you, Grifftina.

Could this be what the login message is referring to when it says something about not being in the same region?

Indeed, that is the likely cause, Armor.

The EU and NA clients should be the same, Armor, as long as you didn't pick up a non-English version you should just be able to change that line.
