Fake email, or not fake email?

I got this email from wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com

I wasn't sure if it was a fake email or not because simply... someone else had the exact same issue last week and it got resolved and both players got suspended, and the items were restored. Also usually it would be from a donotreply@blizzard.com email or something... But yeah, I just find it odd that the exact same issue from one of my friends last week would have a successful result, but mine wouldn't?

Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.

We have investigated the player you have reported for raid loot scamming, and are taking the appropriate actions. Because of privacy concerns, we are unable to disclose the nature of the action taken.

Due to many variables involved with item reimbursement and types of scams, restoration is not guaranteed. We have made every effort to verify your particular case, but unfortunately, we were unable to provide the restoration of the Sanctified Lasherweave Gauntlets. We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have been caused. While we will make every effort to provide assistance in cases of loss, the decision to go forward with a restoration is entirely at Blizzard's discretion.

Please refer to our Character & Item Restoration Policy (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20457) for further details on recovering lost items.

Should you require further assistance, please submit another help request the next time you are online. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

I can confirm for you this much, Azurehawk, that the email you received was in fact from Blizzard.

Q u o t e:
each scam is looked at on a case by case basis, the difference between yours and the one last week was they were able to verify what should have happened in the other case. They look at what the master looter or raid leader set as the loot rules, as well as conversations between the scammers, ect.

If you feel this is unresolved you could try to re ticket, however, the answer would probably be the same.

I was going to add this as well but Sherbear beat me to it.
