No complaining or anything. Was just curious as to why they decided to do it this way. You know scaling all your mounts to the highest speed. Was it so people would revisit there first tier mounts. Or are they coming up with a higher scale for achievement mounts in cata.

Again just curious. Either way i think its awesome.

Pretty much this. We want people to be able to pick and choose the mount (or mounts) they enjoy using without feeling like they're being penalized. There are a lot of different mounts to choose from and for some people, that mount they got awhile back that was so awesome, lost its luster after that next fast mount came out.
