Faction Change Reputation

Originally this character was an Alliance dwarf on Area 52. At this point in time I had Wintersaber Trainers at Exalted. I faction transferred to Horde (but remained on Area 52) about a year ago to play with some friends. About a week ago I returned to Alliance then moved the character to Anvilmar to play with some other friends. On the faction equivalency guide there is a note at the bottom:

"Some reputations do not have an opposite-faction equivalent, and thus will not be included in a faction change. However, they will be restored at their previous levels if the character ever transfers back to their original faction."

Now my rep when I returned to Alliance was 4500/6000 Friendly. I contacted a GM and he said I needed to go talk to the rep quest giver. This did not work. I also tried doing one of the dailies and that also did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try to restore or it, or am I just going to have to refarm it?
