Hello, how many of you tryed to get something restored or got hacked but couldnt be helped cus of blizzard couldnt find it or had some kind of error?, i mean i had a friend that i played with long ago i cant remember if it was tbc or wrath but he had like at least 20k gold and got hacked and got stolen he had told me blizzard wouldnt help due to some problem, now i cant say it was a log problem but i can say there are problems that cant be helped due to logs, now lets not flame me and lets think of an idea that can proceed the accounts not getting hacked and cant be helped,

(now blizzard i hope your reading this i think this is a good idea)

How about blizzard makes a log that goes with your account, you wont be able to open it due to people might want to change it to get gold from gms, how ever blizzard will be only able to open it but it will be easy log opener for blizzard instead of having to look stuff up , blizzard could open the person's log to their account, and i really mean the log goes onto the players pc when they get stuff, i know blizzard has logs on accounts but i believe its on some network that could be screwed with (now correct me if i am wrong dont flame me ) then they would have item log and chat log, just so it be much easyer to look stuff up is my thinking..,

also on a different note, i was hacked i wont go into detail but i was thinking, ( again blizzard maybe read this,) if sombody is hacked and their char is stolen and xfered , tons of times, and you cant seem to restore the char? maybe make the person who got hacked the lvl char they had and class? i mean if you cant restore it but u know he had one , whats the problem? i mean he prolly worked his butt off leveling that char and to have it taken away and blizzard gives them a simple "sorry" i dont think that can replace the char, but no flamming alright? :D

When you handle something akin to hundreds of terabytes a day in logs, there are some limitations that must be taken into account.

This is why we ask that you report issues to us as soon as possible. Waiting several months means we only have limited data to investigate your issue. If it's only been a couple of weeks, however, there is a much higher likelihood of getting your items restored.

However, this is all rather besides the point, Jeryy, as your issue has nothing to do with the time that has passed or the logs involved. The issue you reported was not able to be verified the first time you reported it as a compromised issue. We were unable to determine that compromised access had taken place.

Requesting a follow-up on the same issue seven months later does not allow us much to investigate.

In regards to your later point of having the files stored on the player's individual computer, that would make their gear and gold just as, if not more vulnerable, to any computer insecurities. Would you prefer that we would be able to do absolutely nothing in the event you were compromised, rather than the abilities we do have to restore gear, gold, and characters? If so, then this thread and further thoughts would be best posted in our Suggestion forums.

This thread really isn't constructive or appears to be heading in that direction to become constructive.

If you have suggestions, Jeryy, the Suggestions forum is the best place to post those.
