Hackers/Auction House

I heard on this forums a few times that people are now getting banned because of some flaw in the system which bans people for selling to or buying from hackers that are using the auction house. There is no way anyone can know if someone else is a hacker in the game, espically, on the auction house.

I'm getting worried because I make thousands of gold on the auction house all the time. I sell ore, cloth, and all kinds of d/e mats on the auction house.

Right now I have 94 auctions going, so my chances of running into one of these hackers is pretty good considering the entire country of China is devoted to hacking this game.

Then today, I sold several stacks of enchanting mats that I got from running stratt for 4 hours yesterday while mount farming with my friend. He d/e all the blues for me.

When I took the money from my mailbox I usualy glance at the buyers name, just to see if I know them. On some of these stacks the buyers name was something like "asdfghjwowblizz" and on some other mails the name was completely missing from the letter. It just said "Buyer ();".. So it leads me to believe that, the person that purchased those, was deleted and/or banned since they purchsed my stuff.

It doesn't seem like there is anyway I can prevent these people from buying stuff from me, they have the same right as anyone else to purchase things from the acution house. I usually look at the names of people before I purchase things, if its something stupid, or seems fishy, I don't buy it.

We all know by now that these hackers are not very original, their names are always the same.

I spend most of my day now that I have seen every part of the current game, working the auction house and making loads of money before cata comes out. Some times I spend the entire day farming mats and going back and forth to the auctions.

I'm starting to get worried that some fail system is going to ban me just like it did with other people on this forums for working with the hackers when I'm not.

So long as your goods were gained legitimately and are being sold legitimately, Corpy, you should have nothing to fear.

In the event that something like this does happen to you, our Account Administration Department is there to overturn actions that may have not been intended. These situations are quite infrequent, but should you need their services, they can be contacted via e-mail at [email protected].
