Jammer Scammers

A few months back, my account was hacked. I had not purchased gold, visited "questionable" websites, shared account information or any of the other "dont dos" on the list, yet I was hacked and everything I had worked for over 6 months was stripped from my account. I followed instructions, got rid of addons, triple checked virus software etc.
Blizzard was great. A few days later I had all my stuff back. But, the hackers werent done. After weeks of fighting with the hackers for control of my account, I got an authenticator. End of drama.

Now, I am receiving emails stating my account information has been changed, that my account has been locked due to numerous logins from non registered IPs, etc. Also, I have received a few other emails that actually make no sense or have such glaring grammatical errors it is immediately evident the email was composed by someone who speaks engrish as a second language.

However, one of these emails was actually a very good fraud, and nearly had me. I came so close to clicking that link to recover my account! Then, it struck me... and I decided to try to sign on as usual, first. If I had a problem I would log into account administration directly, as opposed to using the link provided.
I had no issue signing in. There was no compromise. <whew>

I continue to get these emails on a daily basis. Really, I have to say that the level of dedication of these jammer scammers has me wondering if Blizzard can legitimately propose that anyone's account is secure in any way. As it is, I am plugging along with the authenticator and hoping for the best. But, it seems to me the game itself is compromised in the extreme.

Due to the compromise, the hackers now know your email address, Grindtl.

Until you update the email address associated to the Battle.net account you will more than likely continue to receive emails of this kind. If you do not want to update the email address then you may want to bookmark this Knowledge Base article:

This will give you instructions on how to view the email headers. Email headers will indicate where the email came from.
