Cata release date

trade chat on my server is abuzz with the Dec7 2010 release date. So looked. may game sites are stating that blizz releases the date today but I can find nothing official on an WOW forum or the Cata website.

What gives? Is this just another false claim by dozens of game sites or has Blizz not posted it yet on these forums?

Thanks in advance as I would like to clear this up.
