Here is the ticket I submitted:

We were in ICC 25, and 2 conquerers marks of sanctification dropped. the top two rolls win one each, as the master looter stated. i had the second highest roll, but the master looter accidentally gave it to another player, *******. the master looter asked ******* to trade it to me because it was an accident, and ******* logged off with my item.

The response I received went along the lines of "Get the person who received the loot to message us and we will see what we can do."

Well that is a bit of a problem when that person knowingly stole the item, and I messaged him this morning asking him kindly if he was planning to give me the item back. Didn't receive a response, and when I followed up, he is ignoring me (surprise). Any advice? Or is this just a lost cause and this person is rewarded with an item for losing a roll?

The case you are describing, Entheogen, is a case of a loot dispute and not a scam. We do not recognize "ninja looting" - per the definition, "ninja looting" simply is not possible in World of Warcraft.

The player who received the item did nothing - he was given an item by the Master Looter. Once that it is done, it becomes their property, and their choice what to do with said item. Being in a Master Loot -run group is trusting that person with the ability to hand out loot. This means you are trusting them to not only hold up their end of the bargain if specific loot rules were declared, but also to not make such mistakes. It's for these reasons that we strongly suggest you run instances and raids with players you know and trust, especially in the role of Master Looter.

In addition, the situation you described can be handled in-game - there is a 2-hour trade timer on loot for cases where the Master Looter makes a mistake. Unfortunately, if the player who now owns that item does not want to give it up, I'm afraid that's their choice. =\

If you do feel you have been scammed, then you are most welcome to report the issue. But it is only the case of scams that we are able to intervene.

For reference, though it appears you may have already skimmed these articles, I will provide them again for your convenience.

What is Blizzard Entertainment's stance on "ninja looting" within the World of Warcraft?
