I got an email that seems legit that starts of with .....

World of Warcraft®: Cataclysm™ Beta Test Invitation
Congratulations! You’ve been selected to participate in the beta test of World of Warcraft®: Cataclysmâ„¢.

As a beta test participant, you’ll have the chance to experience the new content and features of Cataclysm before the expansion is released. We’re looking to get your feedback on the overall gameplay experience, including quests, monsters, zones, dungeons, aesthetics, and more as we continue to implement new expansion content. We would also appreciate reports on any bugs you may encounter. These can be logged using the /bug command explained below.

I can post the entire email but I am sure you have seen it a million times.

Just wanted to know if this was legit. I have read the stickies and also saw a post from Artharun that had the exact same email so I am 90% confident that it is. Also the correct use of grammar and apostrophies leads me to believe it is genuine =D

It is coming up to the 20 hour mark from recieving this email and I am as giddy as a school girl at a justin beiber concert.

A quick blue confirm would make me a happy panda.

Well, Stinkylinkon, you may begin squealing and shedding those tears, because I can confirm the account you are posting under is flagged for the Cataclysm Beta!

Log into Battle.net Account Management and view the Account Summary. You should see the main World of Warcraft account and possibly 2 PTR clients. One of which (WOW2) is the Beta client. Click on that and you will then have the option to download the Beta client.

Congrats to you again!

Oh and I have not got wow2 on my summary page.

Just these:

Your Game Accounts

StarCraft II
StarCraft II®: Wings of Liberty [SCII-1] Southeast Asia & ANZ (SEA) StarCraft II®: Wings of Liberty North America (NA) Add Game
World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King
[Name removed]

Americas & Oceania (US)
World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King
[WOW1]
Public Test Realm (PTR)

Nothing else

Interesting.

Can you try clicking on the PTR you do have available and see if it takes you to where you can download the Cataclysm client?

Thanks for the information, Stinkylinkon.

I am checking with someone now to see if there would be any reason why you would be unable to download the client. I will update the thread when I have more details.

I do want you to try one last thing though. I want you to reset the password on the account. Resetting the password will refresh the account and the client may appear.

The password retrieval can be found here: https://us.battle.net/account/support/password-reset.xml

Let me know the outcome so I can pass along those details.

I followed the same steps as before to reset my password and it has reappeared..

I wonder if I have to do this everytime I want to access it? seems a bit odd

You should not have to do this each time you want to access it.

It could be that all the different processes are trying to play catch up to one another. Once everything is in sync, you should be good to go.
