Today, out of sheer boredom, I decided to log into my Battle.net account just to see if, by chance, I might have been invite to the Cataclysm Beta. Under the "Summary" section it listed the normal WotLK game, but then a second listing said:
World of Warcraft®: Cataclysm Beta
[WOW1]
Public Test Realm (PTR)
I wasn't sure if this was the real Beta due to the fact that it says "public test realm" (I've never actually downloaded a PTR client before, and i know there is currently a PTR out now to test the next patch, so please forgive my ignorance on the matter).
I have not received any official email stating that I'm in, but i attempted to download the client link it provided anyway. After several hours of downloading a new Beta shortcut is on my computer desktop and clicking on it brings up the Launcher reading version 4.0.0.12635. The "PLAY" button in the lower right of the Launcher is grayed out (unable to be clicked on) and after about 30 seconds the Launcher closes.
My questions are simply:
Am I really in the Beta?
What did I do to break it already?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
