Q u o t e:
When we removed the passive threat reduction from say Battle Stance and rogues and paladin healing, that left tank threat slightly below where it had been.

(emphasis is mine)

I am not sure about the rest of the posters here, but this is the first time I've heard about this. Yet another unique ability that paladins have lost and yet another nerf. Whether this is going to affect us negatively is a different question, but still... a nerf.

Or maybe I just haven't been paying attention and this is already common knowledge. In that case please feel free to ignore this post. :)

Q u o t e:
Paladin healing had an additional 50% modifier attached to it relative to other healers (so you did 25% threat instead of 50% threat). This was to avoid a hypothetical concern that Paladins could heal-tank.

This has never really been the case (since you would never get a heal off anyway) and they've basically finally acknowledged that it will never be the case.

Frankly if you are finding Threat an issue as a Paladin healer but not as another kind of healer, then that would more likely indicate that Paladins need a healing nerf, since it would mean that you are capable of healing enough more than other healers that threat would actually be a problem.

This. There is no reason for paladins to generate less threat per unit healing than other healers. The original concern was that paladins would tank by healing themselves, but that isn't a realistic concern in Cataclysm and probably has not been for some time.

A clever player compared the threat modifiers in the live game to a tax law with all of its peculiar exceptions and shelters and special case rules. We consolidated the whole thing to a modifier on Defensive Stance, Bear Form, Righteous Fury and Blood Presence.
