Yeah hey.Um when Blizz puts the time from 5:00am to 11:00am for down time, why the hell do they increase it.Cant they just say hey this is going to be an all day thing so dont keep trying to log in every three hours. Thanks blizz.Starting zones being boring isnt why people stop playing its because you suck at being a company.I have prolly spent more than $100 on just tuesday game time that i didnt get to play.

Since tuesday game time adds up to a few dollars a year, max, I doubt that. The unforseen happens, and maintenance can take longer than usual.

Those timeframes are always an estimated timeframe, Thorgil. A mere projection of when we believe realms will be back up and running in a playable manner. Unfortunately, we cannot always predict what may or may not occur during scheduled maintenances. We try to provide an accurate, though approximate time frame for our players; however, unexpected events may arise which cause our systems to require further attention and, regrettably, further downtime. This is, of course, not something we want, particularly if you factor in customer satisfaction, though it is necessary for overall performance and stability.

Although I agree with you, things do happen. Mistakes do happen. But they seem to happen EVERY maintenance day.

That is a fallacy, Weemann. I'm fairly certain that last Tuesday we announced that realms were going to be offline a bit longer, and though we gave an additional hour for the estimated downtime, we had the realms up within fifteen minutes of our announcement. The week prior to that, correct me if I am mistaken, but our maintenance merely consisted of rolling restarts.

I have no desire to recount every maintenance period from the beginning of World of Warcraft, I simply wanted to point out that it isn't every Tuesday that we extend maintenance. When things go well and realms come up when they are meant to, though, it goes by unnoticed-as it should. It is only when things do not go as expected that they are brought to your attention, and that may be why it seems that every maintenance period is extended.

Perception is a funny thing.
