player X needs 6 shards for his shadowmourne and a LK kill for his chest items
he is invited to a GDKP and is provided these shards + kill in exchange for the tabard of the lightbringer (added to the GDKP pot)
prior to the run. player x it makes it very clear via in-game chat that the deal is 6 shards + LK kill for a tabard of the lightbringer
after LK dies, he receives the sealed chest + all the items, and promptly "disconnects" before trading away the tabard

will GMs enforce this transaction, or are we out of luck?

It is possible, Vilespirit, but it is not within my realm of ability to conduct this investigation. If you feel a scam has taken place, the best course of action is to submit a petition regarding the issue.

Please be aware that in many cases, Game Masters are unable to redistribute loot, though reclamation of goods is a possibility, in addition to appropriate action taken on offending accounts. You may want to check out our Scam and Loot policies below.
