If a key code is no longer being used why can I not use that key code

I bought a used key code that’s is no longer being used but when I put it in it says its been used already so I am guessing that every key code is a one time use only if that’s true this should be ON THE BOX and if that’s the case then stores should not even carrier it at all because all you are buying is a key code to play the game for like $20 to $40!! Bucks and then a monthly fee! Your not buying any thing you don’t own any thing you are giving money for the key code then giving even more money to play per month and you can t even buy an old key code from some one for less money because its a ONE TIME USE you are forced to buy a NEW KEY CODE AT A LOCKED PRICED just to upgrade.
WELL this is a scammers dream I could by a box then sell the key codes or use them then sale the box and key code and make money just like this company. I could sale it many many times and not disclose that it’s a one time use its not on the box so why do I have to disclose it.

I AM NOT TRYING TO USE THE SAME KEY CODE ON MORE THEN ONE COMPUTER OR GAME ITS ONLY BEING USED ON ONE GAME. THE OLD ACCOUNT IS GONE I JUST WANT TO USE IT ON MY CURRENT ACCOUNT.
WHY CANT IT BE TRANSFERRED OVER TO MY ACCOUNT NOW I DID PAY FOR IT.

The thing is, Hunterswrath, as the others have indicated the old account is not gone. It may not currently be active, but the Authentication key was used to create an account. That key can only be used once and can not be used again to create other accounts. This is standard practice for the majority of games out there as they are not intended to be shared amongst multiple users in most cases.

Simply, because you aren't the registered user on the account. The person is able to transfer the media ( the physical CD's and manual) but not the account, which they create with the understanding that only two people may access the account at any time, that is the registered adult and one minor child that the adult is the parent or legal guardian of.

I'm sorry, Hunterswrath, but we are unable to grant you access to an account that is not registered to you.

If you feel that additional labeling is warranted please post in the Suggestion forum.
