Digital Download and Cataclysm

Will the digital download option be opened up for people outside of the united states finally?

The current digital download has some issues with allowing people to get your products unless you have an american postal code, I know there was threads around here about people from canada specifcially unable to upgrade their versions of world of warcraft via this option because of a "invalid zip code" error.

I don't want to not go and pre-order a copy just incase if I wait at home and get this error as I wouldn't be too impressed.

I am curious because last time I tried to DD upgrade an account from burning crusade to WOTLK I got this exact error still. There was a temporary way of getting around it by entering the last 4 digits on your credit card as your zip but that was fixed or changed.

If you play the North American version of the game from an unsupported region, Crunkskunk, there is a very good chance you may receive this error. If you plan on playing the game on December 7th, and do not want to wait on the digital upgrade you may wish to make arrangements to purchase the game retail.

Even if you have moved, Jahari, the option to upgrade online is available for players outside of our supported areas. You may experience an error during the upgrade process, however. Normally Account Services would be able to assist with processing the upgrade over the phone.

Keep in mind we have not made any announcements as to when the Cataclysm Digital Download will be made available for players. As the launch date approaches, more information concerning the Digital Download availability will follow.

I have the US version of the game and I suppose I am in a Supported region. But my Zip Code only has 4 characters.

Will this effect my chance at being able to upgrade online??

New Zealand is a supported region for the North American version of the game, Geryonn. As such, the zip code being 4-digits will not play a factor in the upgrade process.
