Trial Account Question

I recently invite my friend to play a trial account through recruit a friend. After playing for a short while she decided she wanted to buy the game and start a blood elf. She used the direct upgrade service to upgrade her trial to wow classic, and then again to burning crusade. She is operating on the free month that came with the purchase of the upgrade.

For some reason her account is still considered a 'trial', as she can't send mail and the other restrictions are still being imposed on her. Also, even though it says our accounts are linked in my account management page, we cannot use the teleport function. Is this all because she hasn't officially paid for her first month yet? One other thing I've noticed is that when she logs in it gives her a choice of two accounts, wow 1 and wow 2, what is this?

She must have missed the warnings during the upgrade process, Emlee. Though the leveling restrictions are removed immediately upon upgrade it can take up to 72 hours for all trial restrictions to be removed.

Once her purchase has fully processed she should have normal access to chat channels, mail, etc. . . .

If you are unable to use the Summon Friend ability though it sounds like she may have created a new account or upgraded a non-Recruit a Friend account instead of the one you were on.

If you can give me the name and realm of a character on your friend's account I can take a look.

I'm afraid it looks like the wrong account received the upgrade. From what I can see two trial accounts were created around the same time. One which would be labeled WOW1 for your friend is was the normal trial (which was upgraded) and WOW2 is the Recruit a Friend trial.

Your friend upgraded WOW1 which isn't linked to your account through the Recruit a Friend system.

All is not lost though as our Billing and Account Services department should be able to help get the link and upgrade on the same account. Please have your friend give them a call as soon as they can.
