Possible scamming attempt

I was playing my game, questing on my own, and a whisper popped up from blizzard saying that there were complaints against my account and that i needed to validate my account information at some wow website or i would lose access to my account in 1 hour. does anyone know what this is about? i havent done anything to be complained about. pretty much stick to myself.

It's a scam. I got the same one. As has been stated before, Blizzard will NEVER warn you in-game about an impending ban, they'll ban, and then tell you why through an e-mail. They'll also never tell you to go anywhere other than battle.net or worldofwarcraft.com if they ever need you to log into your account outside of the game (which is rare unless they need you to test something on your end).

Though if you are online when we apply a suspension or other account penalty we will usually contact you to let you know that you are being removed from game and to check your registered e-mail address for details.

You weren't necessarily incorrect, Riverstyx, I just felt a little clarification would help. :)
