Recovering after a compromise.....

My wife's account was compromised some time last night.

We started the process, but she has left for work for the day.

Several characters were removed, gold, gbank items, etc. I have all faith in Blizzard that these problems will be righted in due time, until then I have a few questions:

How long until the ban on the account is lifted (so she can at least play her little toons)?

What steps outside updating anti-malware/spyware/virus should I take?

***I have already deleted the WTF folders, any/all addons, and everything that I knew I could destroy without having to reinstall the game,
***I also noticed that for SOME reason - probably the trojan I found - there was a duplication of all but the application files for the game found in the documents folder ....which I also deleted.

Heya Elriic,

If she has already taken the steps to secure her account and PC and has submitted a petition regarding the compromise and her loss, the only thing you can do at the moment is wait for the petition to be addressed. You can follow our queue time status here: http://twitter.com/BlizzardCS

Elriic,

Can you provide her character name and realm, please?
