Accidentally deleted 49k gold in mail.

My friend recently sent me 49k gold because his account was supposed to expire soon, and he didn't know whether he was going to wait for Cataclysm before then.

So he sent 49k-ish gold to this character that I have selected now.

I left the mail in the mailbox, and tonight, while cleaning out my mail, I accidentally deleted his mail (along with the 49k gold).

I was basically supposed to hold onto the gold for him, while I could use it for myself, until he came back in Cata (good chance he will).

Would it be possible for a GM to restore the gold with the mail? The mail did not expire, it had about a 25 day duration on it still.

My friend would be really angry if I told him I deleted the gold.
