Where'd I get a keylogger?

So my account just got hacked. I've started the procedure for reclaiming my items, but I still have the problem of figuring out where I could have picked up a keylogging program. I've played for 5 years and have never been hacked. I don't go to any site that has anything to do with WoW other than battle.net and worldofwarcraft.com. I don't buy gold or deal with anything like that. The only questionable sites I ever visit are, well, you know... But I wouldn't think they'd have a keylogger. If they had, I'd have been hacked a long time ago. The only thing I can think of is a windower I downloaded for the FFXIV beta. It's a 3rd-party program that allows you to play FFXIV in fullscreen mode while still being able to alt-tab. It's not an official addon. It could possibly have a keylogger, but I wouldn't have thought it'd have a WoW keylogger. From what I've seen, these keylogger guys aren't smart enough to actually come up with something that sneaky without being completely obvious.

Anyway, my question is.... Where could I get something like this?

Hi Fangerrae,

It's hard to back track and find out exactly where the keylogger came from. As Daniera mentioned, key loggers target account information. Once your information is out there, they can easily try your credentials across any website and see if they get a hit.

The best thing you can do is scan your computer with more than 1 antivirus program. Make sure you are not using the same password for other sites or services and make sure you have all your current system updates.
