Just got scammed out of 5000G

And expect your own account to be actioned for this. Account buying/selling is strictly against the ToU, and both you and the guy who took your gold deserve every punishment you should be getting.

Exchanging in-game goods for out of game goods services (in this case, a World of Warcraft account) is a violation of our Terms of Service, Genies. Never, ever provide your account information or password to anyone, and anyone providing their own to you should not be trusted.

Though I am rather curious as to what a player who is getting rid of their account would need 5000 gold for. >O.o<

Each situation is assessed differently, Genies. I would not be able to give you specifics, as I am not involved in investigating the issue at hand.

However, you may wish to review our Terms of Use and our Account Penalties page. We're pretty big on educating people around here, especially if they were not in the know. I would disadvise similar transactions in the future, however, if you wish to avoid being suspended or maintain access to your account.
