Helping a friend...

So my roommate recently agreed to finally try WoW. He bought the battle chest off Amazon and installed the game... we leveled on our linked accounts up to level 16 last night and had a blast. Today, he gets an email saying that his account has been banned, and another showing that his billing contract was deleted.

The emails said that he was banned for a chat violation, like spamming in trade or something.

This is obviously a mistake, but I don't know if Blizzard has any way of catching or correcting these things.

Right now he thinks he got ripped off for 40 bucks, and is really upset.... advice?

As others have suggested, Glaedra, I suspect your friend's account may have been compromised. =(

Contacting wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com is an important step, but you will also want your friend to review our Account Security information and FAQs.

Our support teams are not generally able to provide time reimbursement, Glaedra, but we do always attempt to provide as much restoration as possible in these situations.
