Bots in dungeons

So I was tanking Scarlet Monastery the other day with my druid, I used the dungeon finder and started in the instance, when I noticed a warrior was following me. So I did a couple of back and forth's, and realized he was afk and just had me on follow, so I tried to talk to him. We noticed that he was just spamming shield slam, when one of the other players brought it up that it was a "bot". So we did the old vote kick and moved on. My question is, should I have done something different, like open a GM ticket to report this, and what kind of bot is this? Surely running SM with 4 other players is not the best gold making endeavor out there.

Kicking the player is definitely a good course of action, Ganan, though if you suspect a player is using a bot, you may want to report them via in-game petition. Be sure to include both a name and a realm for the offending player so our Game Masters are able to investigate! >^.^<

In addition, if you wish to avoid being placed in the same instance with players who don't participate or appear to be botting, you *can* place these individuals on ignore, even if they are from another realm! Doing so should ensure you are never randomly matched up with that player for another instance.

When placing an individual from another realm on ignore, please use the following formula, ignoring all punctuation for realm names:

/ignore Playername-realmname

As an example, if I were from the realm Mug'thol and you wished to ignore me, you would type:

/ignore Nevalistis-Mugthol

I'm afraid that for privacy concerns and some other security reasons, I'm unable to divulge the exact actions we take on players who violate these policies, Grimtongue. But do rest assured that penalties can include suspension and loss of account.
