So...RAF scam?

Today, I found somebody in trade chat, who wanted to sell the Recruit A Friend mount for 10k.

Unwittingly, I offered him 10k for it, he accepted, and I waited patiently for my recruitment letter to arrive to him, him to sign up, and me to recieve my mount. A friend of mine assured me on vent that this was not against the ToU or ToS, but I should have checked anyways.

I recieved my mount in the mail, learned it, and immediatly gloated to another friend of mine, in game, that I had just purchased the RAF mount for 10k. He informed me: 'Scammer.' I replied, How could this POOOOOOOOSSSSIBLY be a scam? I already have my mount, and he doesnt have my account information. He was in the middle of yogg saron at the time, so I started to do some research online.

I come to find out that this is indeed against the ToU and ToS, and I feel like a pile of crap now for breaking it. In addition, apparently, this is very possibly a stolen credit card being used, which will have a chargeback on it after about a week.

I got on one of my alts and whispered the seller, 'Hey, I heard you're selling the RAF mount, do you still have it available?' He replied: 'Yea, you wanna do it?'. This confirms my suspicion that this is indeed a stolen credit card, and he is indeed going to do the chargeback.

I do not need copy/pastes of ToU or ToS, i've already looked through it to find what I could.

After having learned my lesson, I'm left with the question: What will happen to my account? =(

Q u o t e:
A Gm responded to my self report ticket. Basically, he or she said 'We understand, etc, you get to keep the mount, but we unlinked the two accounts, thanks for your honesty.' In not so many words. Today has been a good day, and I've learned quite a lesson. :D
Thank you for letting us know, the issue was resolved.
