Your brother will want to review the following information, Hippet:

You are welcome to submit a petition in-game on his behalf - just mention a name and realm of one of his characters on the affected account and describe the situation. That way one of our Game Masters can forward his account along for investigation in the mean time.

Unfortunately, I am not a Game Master myself, so my taking a look would not do a whole lot of good for your brother's account - as a Customer Service Forum Representative, it is my job to moderate and provide advice on these situations. In many cases, I am not able to resolve the issues myself.

Accounts get compromised for a variety of reasons, Hippet. Sometimes they are used as ways to ferry gold stolen between accounts. Sometimes they are used for spamming. Sometimes they are used for farming. Sometimes they are stripped down and nothing is really done with them. It's hard to say.

The best thing to do, however, is to secure it, so none of those things happen, continue to happen, or happen in the future again. ;)

Q u o t e:
yea found out my brother big dumb *#!* if i eva knew 1 replyed to cata beta spam scam in other words so looks like the accounts gone and he doesnt seem to be trying to get it back

Well, I'm not sure why he wouldn't be keen to get back in control of the account, however - it's incredibly important to find the source of this. Not only did they break in, they changed the email on the account.

That could easily indicate a compromised email as well.

I'd have him go over his system fully - and also make certain that his email account is secure.
