Guild name deemed in appropriate, why?

I want to say that my goal in posting this is for a member of the support team read it and to explain clearly why I can not create this guild or help me fix the problem and allow me to create the guild.

Scenario:
I tried to create a guild on my server with a particular name. The name of the guild is Removed. I have the charter and the signatures. When I try to create the guild after obtaining the signatures I get the following message:

"There is already a guild named "Removed"."

Support Steps/Responses:
  • When I filed the first ticket, I was told to reset my UI. I did this and the problem persisted.

  • When I filed the second ticket, I was told to run the repair utility, I had done that very recently for other reasons, and informed support.

  • When I filed the third ticket, I was told the name is inappropriate.

  • When I filed a fourth ticket, containing a response there is evidence to suggest that the name is acceptable by searching the official wow armory and that the gm review the evidence and reconsider the decision.

  • The response to the fourth ticket from the gm was that they investigated my request to have my guild name changed and said they are unfortunately unable to provide a name change, and that they are unable to reimburse me for failure to fulfill the request.

  • Comments:
  • I will re-assert my position of prior guilds (8 total) and characters (75 total) with that name:
    Removed, not necessary

  • None of those guilds with that name exist on my realm (Malfurion). This means that the message provided to me that the guild name already exists is erroneous. The ability to create the charter with that name should suggest that as well.

  • If I enter an inappropriate name to "rename" the guild (choose your favorite profane word), the message is "That name is reserved. Enter a new name.". This further suggest that the name is not actually inappropriate according to the game. I understand that I am not referring to the ToS here, but rather a pre-determined list of inappropriate names.

  • The last response I received about a guild name change was inappropriate. I did not ask to change the name of the guild. I have no guild. I'm creating a guild, and I am not trying to change the name on the charter. I am trying to register an existing charter, and the request is to reconsider the prior response. The evidence here suggests to me several things:

  • The guild name is now inappropriate, but was ok in the past. I can't believe this because the message that you get for real inappropriate names is not the same as this message, and how did I get the charter then?

  • There is a bug with registering charters for me (i.e. the guild name would name no difference here) or something about someone on the charter that is causing this.

  • Somehow there are 2 charters with this name? Is that possible? And if so what happens?

  • The is something wrong on the backend with this charter for whatever reason and no appropriate error message is propagated to the client.

  • Or somehow the guild is not showing up in armory but it exists, but then how did I get the charter with the name on it?

  • I have all the necessary signatures at this moment in time. However, as time elapses, it's likely that will lose signatures. Please help me out.

    Thanks,
    G#%##s

P.S. My name was filtered out, but my desired guild name was not.

It appears that at this time, that name is not available for use as a Guild on your server. I apologize for the confusion, but the various error messages do mean different things to us. Some of them may be marked as unable to be used, while others may currently be in use. There are a variety of solutions that could be applicable to this situation. Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on exactly which is the case in this particular situation.

It should be noted that as Charters are not 'finalized' until they are signed and turned in, the name can sometimes reflect names that aren't actually available. In addition, just because someone else has a name that is inappropriate does not mean it is not inappropriate - it simply means it has not yet been reported. Our Game Master staff are a reactive service - they do not seek out inappropriate names to change them. Only names that are reported to us are changed in this manner.

As others have indicated, the Armory is not always a reliable source for verifying your concerns. I'm sorry for the confusion that may have been caused by the numerous different responses you received - but it is possible some of those could have been applicable for the situation. I do appreciate your patience while our Game Masters attempted normal trouble shooting at first, though the last answer was as definitive as our staff is able to supply - it is not a name that can be provided for you. I hope I've provided some clarity on the issue.
