Take my character's name off people's lists?

Hiya! I was just wondering if it would be at all possible to take all my toon's names off people's friend's lists.
I wish to rename some of my characters, but as I've read, the people with my toon's names, will keep the changed name on their friend's lists.
I wish to start anew, from scratch and build up new friends, but I don't wish to start on a new server and re-level up back to level 80. I chose this name because everyone doesn't have it.

If you remain on the same realm, unfortunately for what you are wishing to do - this is not possible at this time.

Your name will indeed change in all the spot's it's present - including friends lists.
