Recruit-A-Friend, HELP!

My brother purchased the Battle Chest which includes Burning Crusade and Original WoW. He upgraded his account using the authentication keys on the disks. But little did we know our accounts aren't linked, but I sent him the 10 day free trial. It says in red box "Player didn't register free 10-day trial." but he used up all his 10-day free trial. I cannot send him another 10 day free trial to the same account. Please help!

Are you within the required level ranges, grouped, etc. for experience? Looking in the combat log for the bonus xp?
