Hacked despite paranoia

I woke up this morning and all my toons were naked, guild bank robbed and my main toon deleted. It's odd since i know better than to click links in those stupid emails, and any wow site i go to i take the time to hit up the main wow site first then navigate to the offshoot site from there, (paranoia).

I run multiple virus scans weekly, and try to keep my pc tidy, so i'm totally flabbergasted about this situation.

Calling Blizz about this is going to be a nightmare. I haven't been able to get through the busy message in years. :P

Q u o t e:

What qualifications do you need to do phone support?

Speaks english? Check
Can Read? Check
Has a brain? Check.....

That's really the only qualifications you want from folks that could potentially have access to sensitive information?

Really?

No real reason to call on this, Some - but it is vital you find the breach that allowed them to gain your information.

Malware is common, but it's not the only way. There are phishes, your email could be compromised, if you ever use the same password anywhere else, especially websites - that can be very risky.

This is in queue, but finding the source of this is vital to it not repeating. If they CAN get back in, they WILL come back.

This sticky may be useful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.

Does the bolded/underlined part mean that blizz is already working on restoring my account? /hugs all around it this is the case!

Also, I'm running 4 virus scanners right now, not finding anything, so I'm dubious about the keylogger theory, but still checking. Gonna change all my passwords as well, (again).

Yes, this is already under review.

I suspect things will be resolved by the time you get back into game. However, as I said - if they CAN get back in, they will certainly do their best. There is nothing in the world tastier than a freshly restored account.
