Quick question:
I want another WOW account... currently on a trial account but haven't paid it, though wondering if I will need to purchase the expansions again in order to fully play the game. My other WOW account has all the expansions and merged with my battle.net account.

You will need to purchase an upgrade for every World of Warcraft account that you wish to reach the new expansion content i.e. Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King.
