Fake beta invite?

Hi all,

Another "is this fake" thread but i dont know what else to do. I havent been following the Beta at all and have no idea as to whether invites are still being handed out. So im not sure about the legitimacy of an email i have recently received on my battle net associated email. It all looks official and is from an '@blizzard.com' which i think is a blizzard used domain. The email itself looks alright and links to "battle.net" which i am suspicious of, i did click the link which goes to a site that looks exactly like battle net. It also links to the technical support forums for the beta if you have any trouble (which my account is unable to post in due to not being in the beta...)

I think i have included everything but if not please let me know. As i said i am pretty sure this is fake but i want to be 100% sure i am not throwing away something really valuable :P

PS i have an authenticator so would it be worth just trying to log into the linked site and see if it works without the authenticator?

We are still sending out Beta invites, Unignored. Batches are going out roughly every week and a half at this time. That being said, there are a lot of spoof e-mails that are being sent out. I would be sure to check your Battle.net account for the Cataclysm trial, which will appear on your account if you actually have been invited to the beta.

In the event that the e-mail is a fake, please forward it to our Hacks Team at: hacks@blizzard.com.
Q u o t e:
I think all of bizzard's emails are from blizzard.com, not battle.net

either way I've seen fake emails from wowgm@blizzard.com which makes me wonder

I would check the "Spoofed" Email Addresses section of the following Support Article, Lavabeardtwo: (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/30828).
